Rockdale Greening Committee
Did you know that Rockdale has been selected by LAUSD for the SEEDS program?
The SEEDS program provides funding to create outdoor healthy and sustainable learning environments that support LAUSD’s curriculum. In January of 2026, LAUSD is scheduled to break ground on a brand new outdoor learning space for our students. You can see the district approved blueprint here.
At our recent meeting, we covered:
Why campus greening matters to our students education - Principal Stefani Williams, Rockdale VAPA Magnet Elementary
How community input and investment can make a difference - Tori Kjer, LA Neighborhood Land Trust
What LAUSD SEEDS is bringing to Rockdale: An overview of the planned outdoor learning space and it's impact on our campus - Ilianna Padilla and William Meade, Project Managers at LAUSD Eco Sustainability Office
Latest News:
Rockdale was recently awarded a $5,000 grant to support our Garden and garden education program: Garden School Foundation.
